No School for Students on Thursday, March 20

There will be NO class for Swansea students tomorrow, Thursday, March 20, per the direction of DPS Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero. Read his letter to families and staff here. This operational closure is a result of teacher/staff participation in the Colorado Education Association’s No More Education Cuts statewide Day of Action. Although there will not be class for students, breakfast and lunch will be available at regularly scheduled times if students need meals.

School will resume on Friday, March 21. Please ensure your student attends class on Friday before we go on Spring Break (March 24-28.)

Immigration Resources for Families

All students, regardless of immigration status, have a constitutionally protected right to access free public education. Public K-12 schools must teach all students free of charge, regardless of their immigration status or their parents’ status. This family toolkit is a comprehensive guide designed to assist families in creating personalized action plans in case of deportation or prolonged absence. It provides practical tools and advice on organizing critical documents, managing legal and financial matters, and developing communication strategies. This resource empowers families to navigate challenging circumstances with greater confidence and readiness.
