YMCA AFTER SCHOOL CARE
The YMCA Evidence-Based After School program at Swansea Elementary provides a safe space for kids to continue learning and thriving after the school day ends.
The program is offered Monday through Friday, from 3:15 to 6 pm, and features a structured schedule of:

Afterschool programs are known to improve social skills, behavior and attendance, and increase students’ interest in learning. This results in better grades and higher graduation rates.
And as part of the YMCA, the Swansea After School program fosters Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and is part of the Y’s commitment to strengthening families and developing healthy, confident and resilient kids.
The YMCA Swansea After School program is one of eight selected site locations throughout Denver that uses the SEAL program in partnership with the Denver Afterschool Alliance and Denver Public Schools.
Standing for Social, Emotional and Academic Learning, SEAL focuses on Whole Child Success. The curriculum teaches children how to apply new knowledge, attitudes and skills to:
SEAL also recognizes that children interact with countless adults every day, including bus drivers, teachers, afterschool providers, paraprofessionals, family members and more. Based on this, SEAL engages this broader community and empowers all adults to best serve children.
